Kathmandu, June 32:
Kathmandu Metropolitan City is going to collect separately the decomposable and non-decomposable garbage with effect from 1st of July.
The Metropolitan Municipality has published a notification and fixed Sunday and Wednesday as the days for collection of perishable waste, while for non-perishable waste, Monday and Friday have been fixed.
According to the Metropolitan Municipality, they will also fine 500 per person as an action against unclassified garbage carrying vehicles and return them to their homes.
The Metropolitan Municipality has also stated that if the request of the metropolis is ignored, it will be punished as an offense according to Section 519th0 of the Natural Resources Protection Act, 2077 and Section 389th0 of the Garbage Management Act, 2068.
A month ago, the Metropolitan Municipality had issued a notice and informed the citizens about the classification of garbage.
